The race for 64-bit Android computing is on and ASUS is leading the charge with their flagship tablet.

Hot on the heels of the 64-bit Zenfone 2 announced last CES 2015, ASUS has locally launched the Fonepad 8. It’s a thinner, lighter, and narrower than its predecessor, but boasts beefed-up specs that would make it a very decent competitor in the tablet market.

The 64-bit quad core Intel Atom processor Z3530 1.33GHz sits at the heart of the device, backing up its 8-inch, 1280 x 800 IPS display and dual front speakers tuned with MaxxAudio® for an immersive multimedia experience. It features a 2MP front and 5MP rear camera for Skyping and taking videos up to 720p. At 8.9mm thin and weighing a mere 310g, the Fonepad 8 sports one of the thinnest bezels on a tablet, allowing you to read your comics and books, watch your movies, or play games effortlessly.
