The popularity of Call of Duty Mobile has reached a peak high in the Southeast Asia region, enough to have a multi-region esports tournament league built around it. Garena has announced the Call of Duty Mobile – Garena (CODM) Invitational which will be held at Garena World 2020 in Thailand, with a prize pool of more than USD 65,000.

A total of eight teams will be invited for this tournament, comprising of 2 teams from Thailand, 2 from Indonesia, and 1 team each from Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. These teams will be selected through their respective regional qualifiers.

“Following the warm reception of our local tournaments over the past few months, we are pleased to start the new year by announcing our first regional invitational for Call of Duty Mobile – Garena. We hope this is the first of many more tournaments to come this year.” says Mike Chang Regional Producer for Call of Duty® Mobile – Garena.

Published by Garena in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Taiwan, Call of Duty Mobile – Garena was released on 1st October 2019. The game has already amassed a huge following in these regions, picking up numerous awards such as Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards, and Google Play’s Best Game of 2019. Within a couple months from its launch, CODM has hit the ground running with numerous esports tournaments happening across Southeast Asia.

In Thailand, close to 1,000 teams signed up for theonline tournament Mission One.
