Playpark, Asiasoft’s gaming portal, has released a new adventure RPG game based on the lore of ‘Alice in Wonderland’: Heart Castle. Available in certain parts of Asia, through the Google Play and the App Store, the game features cute graphics and imaginative storytelling which gets you to tumble down a familiar rabbit hole all over again.

Most people are familiar with Lewis Caroll’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, the story of a girl who fell into a rabbit hole and found herself in a very different and surreal place full of creatures and adventure. Movies, cartoons, comics, and games have all been created around Alice and her very unique world, all very much focused on the actual lore and mythos from the book. Created by South Korean game developer J2JLab, Heart Castle offers a different look at the characters and setting of the story packaged in an action-oriented RPG game.

The game starts off with the character select screen, allowing you to customize your name and your class (Warrior or Wizard) so you can start your journey to unravel the mystery of the seemingly spellbound Wonderland denizens. The game features a few modes, each catering to different RPG players.

1. Story Mode

The typical ‘player vs. environment’ (PvE) mode, it follows the story of your character, who must find the missing Alice and bring her back. Along the way, you’ll meet familiar characters like the Cheshire Cat (who also functions as a guide), and the White Rabbit.

2. Dimension Hole

A more ‘player vs. player’ mode, the Dimension Hole is a series of timed quests in three difficulty levels which players go through for points and prizes. Points are totaled and players are ranked in Worldwide Leaderboards.

3. Infinity Tower

For those familiar with never-ending dungeon running, the Infinity Tower has no backstory to distract you from forming your strongest party in order to clear progressive dungeon levels. We found this is a great way to pass the time if you’re not really in the mood to progress your story.

4. Arena

Another PvP variant, you can actually battle against randomly-generated player opponents to gather points and prizes and advance your ranking on the Worldwide Leaderboards.

The game itself follows a tried-and-tested free-to-play format, with players starting out at Level 1 and progress through the game by increasing their experience, upgrading gear, and acquiring new pets, or allies in battle. Pets can be upgraded by fusing them with other pets to gain levels, as well as to evolve them to more powerful forms. You can also purchase in-game items to boost your abilities and unlock new pets.

Heart Castle is now available for download from Google Play or the App Store.
