Going cashless is the main thrust of PayMaya, as they continue to offer innovations on their inital business platform: the freedom to pay for goods and services without the need for actual money. While you do need to top up your PayMaya account with cash, there are many convenient ways to do so plus the convenience of being able to use their service outside the country.
This time, PayMaya has partnered with another big convenience store chain: MiniStop. The service intends for customers to use the QR scanning feature of their PayMaya app to scan the store’s QR code found at the cashier area and be able to pay for their items there! The items need to be presented at the cashier in order for the total amount to be generated. From there, just scan the QR code with your phone and input the total amount. Send the payment and show the confirmation message to the cashier for hassle-free shopping!
This service is being tested at the MiniStop Cyberscape Alpha and Ministop Cyberscape Beta outlets so if you’re ever in the area, try it out!
Pinoy mobile users now have a quick and convenient way to pay for their favorite items from Ministop, one of the most popular convenience store chains in the country today, thanks to the availability of PayMaya QR payments in their stores.
With PayMaya QR, Ministop customers no longer have to count paper bills or coins from their wallets whenever they pay at Ministop, because all they have to do now is scan the store’s QR code using their PayMaya app to make instant, seamless payments anytime.
“We’re excited that Ministop customers can now use PayMaya’s QR-based payment technology. With this initiative, Filipinos will not only have a delightful and convenient way to pay via QR, but it will also help place the Philippines ahead of the curve in growing a cashless, digital economy,” said Paolo Azzola, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at PayMaya Philippines.
“The future of retail is digital, and we’re glad that Ministop is the first convenience store to employ cashless payments with the help of PayMaya QR. This will definitely help bring a quicker, more secure, and hassle-free payments experience to customers within our stores,” added Thelma Roxas-Jacob, General Manager at Ministop.
Through its QR-based payments – the first-of-its-kind implementation in the country for QR code payments – PayMaya is paving the way for mainstream adoption of digital payments for all Filipinos nationwide.
Consumers can make quick and instant payments by simply scanning a QR code with their mobile phones. Merchants, on the other hand, no longer have to invest in point-of-sale systems in order to accept digital payments from their customers.
The technology is initially available in Ministop Cyberscape Alpha and Ministop Cyberscape Beta, but will be rolled out to more sites and stores in the coming months.
Ministop is the latest retail merchant to adopt PayMaya’s QR-based payment technology, which recently saw an accelerated rollout across the country in Smart Stores, in communities starting with canteens in partner schools like STI and commercial establishments in cashless cities such as Muntinlupa and Malabon, and in popular merchants within SmartSpots already enabled by WiFi connectivity in key cities such as Baguio, Cebu, and Davao.
“Through our partnerships with merchants like Ministop, coupled with our aggressive campaign to encourage consumers to adopt digital payments via PayMaya, we are building a cashless ecosystem all around the country that will help propel the Philippines as a leader in the global digital economy,” Azzola added.
