The Korean tech manufacturer turns its flagship into a franchise by offering two variants of the successful LG G3. Both units are coming soon to dealerships nationwide in time for Christmas.

There’s no doubt that the LG G3 has made waves in the tech industry since it’s launch around the middle of this year. From the look and display, the hardware, and the innovations crammed into the phone, there’s a reason why it remains at the top of the game.

Flagship specs come at a flagship price of course, and for most people, the budget for a smartphone falls in the midrange category, unless you contract with a telco. That’s why LG has decided to widen the G3 line with the G3 Stylus and the G3 Beat. These phones have features of the G3 but have a much more manageable price range.

First on the block is the G3 Stylus. As the name implies, it has a stylus, called the Rubberdium. To complement this add-on, the G3 Stylus has a 5.5 inch display so users have more surface area to write or draw on.

Next up is the G3 Beat. LG did away with the “mini” naming convention it did with the G2 mini, giving the Beat its own identity while still being tied to the G3 family. It’s pretty much a mini version of the G3, something we have come to expect as other brands release their own toned-down versions of their flagships for more budget-conscious customers.

Key Specifications:

  • Chipset: 1.2 GHz Quad-Core
  • Display: 5.0-inch HD IPS (1280 x 720, 294ppi)
  • Memory: 8GB eMMC (ROM) / 1GB LPDDR2 RAM
  • Camera: Rear 8MP with Laser Auto Focus / Front 1.3MP
  • Battery: 2,540mAh (removable)
  • Operating System: Android 4.4.2 KitKat

  • Network: 2G (Quadband) / 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz)
  • Connectivity: A-GPS, BT 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Colors: Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold
  • Other: Touch & Shoot, Smart Keyboard, QuickMemo+, Gesture Shot, Dual SIM

If you’ve always wanted to get a feel of the G3 sans the burden on the wallet, then the Stylus and Beat offer something of a compromise. It’s would also make for great stocking stuffers!

The LG Stylus is priced at P16,990 while the LG Beat retails for P13,900. Both devices are initially available at Abenson and MemoXpress this month, with all other dealers and concept stores getting their units come December.
