A complete range of devices is a must if a smartphone brand wants to remain relevant, especially in a budget-conscious country like the Philippines. For ten years, the Korean tech giant has captured the hearts of Filipinos with their offerings, no matter the price point.

Hot on the heels of the Galaxy S10 announcement at MWC 2019, Samsung has lifted the veil on the M20, a mid-range contender boasting a price point that hovers at the upper limits of entry-level.

Here are the specs:

PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
6.3 inches, 97.4 cm2 (~83.6% screen-to-body ratio)
1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~409 ppi density)
Android 8.1 (Oreo); Experience 9.5
Exynos 7904 1.8 octa-core chipset and CPU
Mali-G71 MP2 GPU
32GB storage
3GB RAM
13 MP, f/1.9 + 5 MP, f/2.2 ultrawide rear camera
8 MP, f/2.0 front camera
Li-Po 5000 mAh battery with fast charging (15W)

At first glance, the M20 has a teardrop notch, something Samsung has been missing in its offerings. The FHD+ Infinity V-display offers an uninterrupted viewing experience with a 6.3” edge-to-edge display and a 90% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the M20 runs on the Exynos 7904 processor, a Mali-G71 MP2 graphics card, and 3GB RAM. It’s not bad for a budget phone, and the setup is enough to handle videos and games without breaking a sweat, especially with today’s game optimization.

It has a triple camera setup: two at the back and one selfie shooter. The 13MP camera is complemented by a 5MP ultrawide lens, which mobile photographers specializing in landscape photography, would enjoy playing with. The Galaxy M20 camera comes with an AI-solution to optimize scenes in real-time, and automatically adjusts saturation, white balance, and brightness. Selfies can be elevated with stickers, stamps, and flattering filters, for professional-looking images.

The Samsung Galaxy M20 runs on a whopping 5,000 mAh battery, its largest in the mid-range category. For gamers and people have to endure long commutes home, the larger battery pack is something to look forward to for entertainment purposes. Rounding out the M20 is its 15W fast charge capability that can power the device up to 10% in just 10 minutes. This ensures you’re not tethered to a cable for too long.

The Samsung Galaxy M20 is available starting today with a suggested retail price of P10,990. It is exclusive from online merchants Lazada, Shopee, Argomall, Abenson, and MemoXpress. Users may visit the online merchants’ websites to know more about their promos with the Galaxy M20.

Each purchase of the smartphone also comes with access to the Samsung Members app, an online community that offers news, tips, diagnostic checks, and exclusive benefits like event invitations, special offers, and discounts on Samsung services.
