Dream It with AirAsia: A Journey Connecting Asean’s People and Places Through Passion Dream It with AirAsia: A Journey Connecting Asean’s People and Places Through Passion
Dream It with AirAsia took several influencers to Tokyo to experience gaming at its best during the Dream It: Vol. 2 adventure! Dream It with AirAsia: A Journey Connecting Asean’s People and Places Through Passion

Dream It with AirAsia launched Dream It: Vol. 2, an unforgettable expedition that brought together emerging Asean creators for an immersive exploration of Japan’s vibrant gaming culture. In collaboration with global entertainment giant SEGA, the initiative offered rising talent a unique platform to connect across borders, culminating in exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the prestigious Tokyo Game Show 2025.

Dream It with AirAsia is more than a trip; it’s an ongoing brand experience under The Colour of Connection (TCOC) campaign, built on the pillars of People, Places, and Passion. Following its dive into Manila’s music scene with Vol. 1, this second volume ventured into the world of gaming, bridging the gap between aspiring creators and industry leaders through meaningful co-creation and shared discovery.

Dream It With AirAsia: The Dreamers on the Journey

The journey began with the RedGames Jam 2025, AirAsia’s annual 48-hour game jam, hosted in partnership with industry leaders including SEGA, MDEC, and APU. The winners, Team Glep, earned the grand prize: an all-expenses-paid Dream It with AirAsia experience to Japan. These four rising talents, whose shared passion for game creation was undeniable, met for the first time alongside fellow Dreamers from across Asean in a bright Tokyo hotel lobby.

Leading the journey was Denise Teo, better known as @supercatkei, one of Southeast Asia’s leading streamers and community builders. Serving as the host, Denise navigated the city with her signature warmth, ensuring that conversations sparked and stories unfolded. For many, this collective journey became their first glimpse of how gaming transcends screens, acting as a shared language that connects people across borders.

Places: Discovering Tokyo’s Gaming Culture

The Dream It with AirAsia journey unfolded across Tokyo, a city where gaming culture seamlessly blends the past and the future. Every stop provided a new perspective on how imagination and creativity intersect in spaces built for play:

Akihabara: Dreamers explored Japan’s capsule toy phenomenon at Gachapon Kaikan, finding playful inspiration in the small surprises that fuel game design.

Taito Station: Amidst the sound of buttons and friendly competition, Dreamers experienced the energy of one of Tokyo’s most recognizable game centers, showcasing how gaming brings people together.

Kokyogaien National Garden: Offering a striking contrast to the city’s electric energy, this quiet morning session allowed Dreamers to pause, reflect, and sketch their dreams, a potent reminder that creativity also grows through connection beyond the digital world.

Passion: Connecting Through Play

The culmination of Dream It with AirAsia x SEGA was all about bringing creators closer to opportunity. Through AirAsia’s collaboration, doors were opened to experiences rarely seen:

Game Console Mod Workshop: Guided by the PLUS-Y team, a group dedicated to preserving Japan’s handheld console legacy, Dreamers customized an iconic handheld console. They gained firsthand insight into its history, design, and the deep sense of community that unites players and creators.

Tokyo Game Show 2025: The journey reached the global stage at one of the world’s most influential gaming expos. Thanks to the partnership with SEGA, Dreamers received exclusive behind-the-scenes access. They met Takaya Segawa, Executive Vice President of SEGA Corporation, and the creative minds behind the brand new release, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. In a powerful demonstration of the collaboration, the new game featured a special AirAsia machine decal designed within the game itself.

The journey continues to shine a light on the region’s emerging voices, inspiring more people to explore, create, and dare to dream beyond boundaries.
