Collegiate esports in the Philippines is getting a massive upgrade. If you’ve been waiting for the local college gaming scene to explode outside of Manila, your time has officially come.
The Philippine Collegiate Championship (PCC) just kicked off its fourth season under the theme “Siklab ng Puso” (Spark of the Heart). It is clear they aren’t just looking to host a few tournaments—they are trying to reshape the entire grassroots gaming landscape.
Backed by Converge ICT Solutions as the official presenter, the PCC Launches with a Passion to connect student gamers nationwide, dropping massive regional expansions, a PHP 750,000 prize pool, and even a chance for students to fly out to Thailand.
The PCC Expands The Battlefield: Visayas and Mindanao Step Up
For the longest time, major esports events felt heavily centered around Metro Manila. Season 4 is completely flipping the script by aggressively expanding its borders deep into the Visayas and Mindanao regions, targeting over 1,000 schools across the country.

The tournament lineup is bringing back the heavy hitters that college squads love: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM). But the organizers also teased a massive surprise—a third mystery game title is joining the official roster very soon.
The road to the top won’t be a walk in the park. Open Cup, Regional, and National league winners will have to face off against the absolute best champion teams from heavy-hitting school associations like SCUAA, FESSAP, CESAFI, and the Davao Esports Enthusiast Association. It’s all building up to an epic Grand Finals showdown at Campus Playfest 2026, the ultimate celebration of local gaming, cosplay, and community culture.

More Than Just Mashing Buttons: The Next Gen Hackathon
What makes this season genuinely interesting is how the PCC Launches with a Passion for student development outside the server. They are leaning hard into their three strategic pillars: Education, Leagues, and Experiences.
They are hitting the road to visit more than 20 schools for Campus Roadshows and industry-led Esports Masterclasses, giving over 1,500 participants a rare look behind the curtain of the gaming industry.
Then there’s the Next Gen program. This season, over 300 student teams will compete in a unique, Hackathon-style competition. The ultimate prize? The winning teams will score a cultural immersion trip to Thailand, which includes attending the world-class Thailand Game Show.
“Real growth is not just about making things look bigger every year,” says Benson Te, CEO of WP/Gaming. “Real growth is being able to stay consistent, continue supporting the community, and keep building opportunities that can last long term.”
