The Next Big Genshin Impact Update Releasing Soon

If you thought Sumeru was finally peaceful after everything we went through with Scaramouche and the Akasha system, think again. HoYoverse just dropped a massive bombshell for Genshin Impact Version “Luna VII,” titled “Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana.”
Things are getting incredibly chaotic. Nahida has fallen into a mysterious, unexplainable slumber, the nation of wisdom is losing its mind, and a new villain who looks suspiciously like Dottore has just stepped into the spotlight.
The best part? You don’t have to wait long to fix this mess. Genshin’s newest update releases in May 20, bringing a massive new Archon Quest chapter, three highly anticipated characters, and a massive stack of Primogems.
Meet the New Faces of Genshin Impact Version Luna VII
This update isn’t just about saving Sumeru; it’s also delivering some of the most unique playable characters we’ve seen in a long time.
Nicole Reeyn (5-Star Pyro Catalyst)

The biggest highlight of this roster is easily Nicole. She is the very first playable member of the mysterious Hexenzirkel (the Hexen-witches). Described as a “voiceless angel whose words speak directly to the heart,” she functions as a premier Pyro team support. Her Elemental Skill buffs your entire party’s ATK and gives you a shield, while her Burst creates an Arcane Projection that executes coordinated attacks based on your active character’s element. Oh, and her Charged Attack spawns a Seelie to guide you to nearby treasure chests. Talk about utility.
Lohen (5-Star Cryo Polearm)

Next up is Lohen, the aggressive Vice-Captain of the Knights of Favonius’ Fifth Company. He runs a unique dual-resource combat mechanic utilizing “Joy” and “Will to Win.” He enters a “Masterstroke” state to burn through Joy for enhanced damage, while his Will to Win stacks up as his teammates fight. He also has direct synergy with Hexerei characters, making him a perfect teammate for Nicole.
Prune (4-Star Anemo Catalyst)

Rounding out the trio is Prune, a self-proclaimed “Witch Hunter” certified by Alice herself. She fights using a combination of a bell and a giant hammer to trigger massive Swirl reactions and deal multi-elemental damage.
Banners, Events, and Quality of Life Upgrades
When the Genshin New Update releases in May 20, the Event Wishes will be split into two packed halves. The first phase features the debuts of Nicole and Prune, alongside a rerun for Durin. The second phase brings Lohen to the stage, accompanied by a highly anticipated rerun for Mavuika.
Beyond the banners, here is a quick look at what else is arriving in Version Luna VII:
Sumeru Archon Quest Rewards: Completing the new chapter during the event period hooks you up with 560 Primogems and Nicole’s Ascension materials.

New Weekly Boss: Prepare for a tough new fight against an entity capable of summoning devastating, unpredictable forces.
Klee’s Little Hexenzirkel Event: A mini-game festival featuring Klee, Qiqi, Yaoyao, Sayu, and Prune. Clearing it rewards you with an exclusive weapon appearance called the “Super Awesome Magic Key.”
Guiding Notes Feature: A massive win for players who skip or forget dialogue, offering in-game story recaps alongside improved quest autosave prompts.
Mark Your Calendars
Whether you are pulling for the Hexenzirkel lore or just desperately need those 560 extra Primogems to rebuild your stash, this patch is shaping up to be a legendary mid-year update.
