The new Genshin Impact Update 1.1 is coming on November 11, 2020 and here's all you need to know about it! A Major Genshin Impact Update Is Coming

It’s been a little over a month since Genshin Impact was released and players are slowly getting in the groove of leveling their characters, farming bosses, and exploring the vast world of Teyvat. Come November 11, 2020, big changes are coming as the Genshin Impact Update 1.1 will be released on the global server.

Genshin Impact Update 1.1: What’s New?

When it comes to story, players will finally be able to finish out the Liyue Archon questline that has been left hanging with the game’s initial release. Similar to the plot of the Mondstadt archon storyline, the Liyue story quests revolve around its archon (in this case the dragon Rex Lapis) and like how Venti is not what he seems, we may have a revelation that one character we have interacted with during the storyline may be hiding something about who s/he truly is.

Also coming with the 1.1 Update is the implementation of the reputation system. For Mondstadt and Liyue (and succeeding areas in the future), players will be able to increase their reputation in these areas by completing bounties, requests, and areas to explore. Travelers will earn rewards and recipes used to craft new items like radar tools for anemoculous and geoculous shards and chests, as well as being able to unlock new glider skins and namecard designs.

There will be new quality of life changes to the Genshin Impact Update 1.1. First and foremost is the ability for players to lock artifacts and prevent them from being included in the enhancement selections. Another update we will be experiencing is the toggle to have a food consumable readily available to eat on the fly. No need to go into your menu and select food to feed your characters at the risk of getting KO’d by the boss you’re fighting!

Travelers are also getting more camera options so view angles won’t be too cumbersome especially when climbing or fighting. Keybinding for PC players will also become a thing!

Genshin Impact Update 1.1: New characters

MiHoYo has confirmed that Zhongli and Childe will be joining the game’s playable cast of characters. Zhongli is a Geo polearm user while Childe is a Hydro bow user. Four star characters Xinyan (Pyro) and Diona (Cryo) will also come with Update 1.1. While unconfirmed, we think that the banners for these characters will be split in two: Zhongli and Xinyan together with previously-released four stars will be on one banner, while Childe, Diona and two other four stars will be on the other banner.

Also coming will be an event that will have a Fischl as a reward. Travelers need only to finish the event and all its achievements in order to unlock a free Fischl. Whether you need the character unlocked for your team or as a duplicate to unlock more of her constallation, having a guaranteed free Fischl is a great benefit to most players, especially those on free-to-play accounts.

Genshin Impact Update 1.1: Resin changes?

The issue of resin – the game’s “energy” mechanic – has been a hot topic with many players of Genshin Impact. Even new players will quickly come across the problem of not having enough resin to access the game’s domain and overworld boss rewards.

This will be addressed in the Genshin Impact Update 1.1, where the total resin amount will be increased to 160 from 120. Resin values for domains, ley lines, and bosses will also be decreased, and Travelers will have the ability to store their unused resin in case they won’t be able to log in for a few days, allowing unused resin to be properly cycled when you have excess (but don’t want to crack a Fragile Resin) to get you to over 20 or 40 resin needed to unlock rewards.

While that really doesn’t address the resin issue completely, MiHoYo has promised to implement future updates on the resin system as well as the co-op system of Genshin Impact that will hopefully come soon.

Meanwhile, we have the trailer for the upcoming Genshin Impact Update 1.1 to hype us up for November 11. As well as a new map area to explore in their December 23 update.
