Yuna, Tidus, and their friends are the newest recipients of an HD makeover as Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia just announced ‘Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD Remaster’.
Hot on the heels of the ‘God of War III’ remaster comes the newest game to get the PS4 port: ‘Final Fantasy X’ and X-2. Packaged together as ‘Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster’, the games originally came out in 2001 and 2003, respectively. FFX was the first ever installment in the Final Fantasy franchise to get a direct sequel, and both games got PS3 and Vita remakes.
Sony promises significant improvements on the models and textures, as well as special features that update the visual effects of the games. ‘FFX/X-2 HD Remaster’ also features the ability to switch from the original and arranged soundtracks to boost the nostalgia factor for gamers who grew with the games as ‘their Final Fantasy’. Cross-save functionality is also enabled for save games in the PS3 and the PS Vita, allowing you to import your games from the older console to the new one. Now, you have no excuse to finish the games.
Pre-orders of the games start on April 17, 2015 and end on May 3, 2015 at all authorized Playstation Dealers. Pre-orders will come with a limited-edition steelbook while stocks last.
‘Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster’ will be released in Asia on May 12, 2015 for P2,299 while the Japanese version will be released on May 14, 2015 and retails for P2,499.
