Anyone who’s familiar with the Philippine esports scene and its history will know that local shoutcasting basically started when two people took megaphones at a local LAN tournament and basically just started calling matches while watching it on a projector. Both these men alternated on hyping the crowd and giving great insight into the matches they “shout-casted”.

Many years later, these two pioneers have become prominent figures in the esports scene. Marlon “Lon” Marcelo is now head of MineskiTV, the content creation arm of esports and gaming giant Mineski. Irymarc “Tyrke” Gutierrez is now CEO of Tier One, an esports-focused talent agency. They have been doing their own thing separately for years in the local esports industry, offering great experiences for their fans and supporters.

With The International 2018 just around the corner, Lon and Tryke, together with their respective companies and Gariath Concepts, has just announced Sanduguan: The 2018 Coverage of The International. It’s an ambitious collaboration, with talents from both Mineski and Tier One coming together to cover and cast the year’s biggest DOTA 2 event, as only they can. Teams composed of these two giants will be on ground in Vancouver, Canada, and here to give fans the closest seats to the action as possible, all overseen and coordinated by the team of Gariath Concepts.

Their collaboration opens up caster team-ups people have only dreamed; one of these is Kuya Nic of WomboXcombo and Dunoo of MineskiTV. Wolf from the Mineski side is joined by Pao Bago from Tier One’s side and of course, the legendary pair of Lon and Tyrke are back at it again. Fans have toyed with the chances of a Lon X Tryke casting combo again, and for one event only, this is going to come true.

“It’s no secret to our communities that Filipino fans are the best in the world. Because of their dedication to the game we all love, all of us are only pleased to bring them a once-in-a-lifetime viewing experience. We hope that our collaboration for The International 2018 will help move the whole of Philippine esports forward,” said Tier One Entertainment CEO Irymarc Gutierrez.

“This collaboration is just the start of the next big step in Philippine esports. Our two studios are joining forces for the benefit of all Filipino audiences, and to make sure that what we can provide is not only the largest esports coverage ever, but the best one. Let’s bring the entire Philippine Dota 2 community together and experience The International like we never have before,” said Marlon Marcelo, Head of MineskiTV.

Sanduguan: The 2018 Coverage of The International 2018 will be available exclusively (but for FREE, of course) on Gariath Concepts’ channels:

If you’re part of the local community, or from outside the Philippines but enjoy the hype this particular brand of casting brings, tune in to the channels above from August 15-25! This momentous partnership is only going to happen once, so make sure to lend MineskiTV and Tier One your energy for The International 2018!
