For LG, it is all about the curved screen. The brand’s flagship – the LG G4 – will sport a curved screen that’s reported to increase its durability when dropped on its display side, and that tech is one of the main selling points of the new Magna. The 5-inch HD screen has a 3,000mm radius curve that gives it a slightly more sleek look, while improving voice clarity in calls as the screen contours more to the user’s face.

The Magna takes a few features found in LG’s G series of handsets, such as the Knock Code and Rear Key. Gesture Shot, first found in the G3, allows you to take selfies easier as the front camera reads your open hand as the signal to start the three-second countdown, eliminating the need for having your thumb move to the shutter button. Glace View enables users to check previews of messages, missed calls, and the time with a downward swipe of the screen even when turned off. The Magna also comes bundled with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Here are the specs:

  • 5.0-inch HD (294 ppi) curved display
  • 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor
  • 8MP rear camera / 5MP front camera
  • 8GB expandable up to 32 GB/ 1GB RAM
  • 2,460 mAh battery
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system
  • 3G only
  • 139.7 x 69.9 x 10.2mm

The Magna retails for P10,990 and is available at all LG dealerships and partner stores nationwide.
